Nice house! Of which material are the indoor walls made of?

Lovely, thank you for posting. I, too, would like to know the music, it's very unusual.

The interior walls are wood studs and drywall.

The music is by one of our clients, the composer Lou Harrison, and was recorded (I believe) in the small home we built for Lou. It's called "Avaloketeshwara" and the guitar is John Schneider. The CD is called "Por Gitaro: Suites for Tuned Guitars".

Nice pics of your home but hate the music. Questions: How reasonable is it that a strawbale home could work in Ohio with harsh winters and damp springs? Does this home attract more varmin than a wood or brick home? In case of fire, would this go faster than a mobile home? I imagine the soundproofing is amazing. What is the cost difference compared to a standard 1600 square ft home?

@girlintopaz Yes, strawbale would work very well in Ohio. Bale homes don't attract vermin any more than other homes might, and a plastered bale wall is very fire resistant--the equivalent of a 2-hour fire wall. Cost varies considerably with design, but we commonly say the cost will be in the custom home range, not the tract-home range.

@girlintopaz Sorry about the music, it's by one of our clients, the noted and beloved composer, Lou Harrison. The tuning of the guitar is a little different than you are used to, which might be why it sounds strange to your ears.
