This is behind-the-scenes footage from my last Sci-Fi short film, "Data Stream." For this scene, the Android repair station required a bottle of glowing liquid. The only thing I had access to and knew would work were glowsticks-- 20 of them in fact! Each of the glow sticks had to individually be cut open. I then carefully slide the glass tubes of liquid into the 2-liter bottle. This is footage of what it looks like when all 20 of the unbroken glass tubes were broken in the bottle at once, giving out a bright green glow.
Because of the dangers of the glass tubes, I don't recommend trying this at home.
Data Stream is a 4min short Sci-Fi film, which I'm currently shopping around for festivals.

The safe outer tube of glowsticks is made of plastic. But inside the plastic is another tube made of glass. When you bend the glowstick it breaks open the glass tube and causes the glowstick to light up by chemical reaction.

This is what it looks like when you use actual glowsticks. Looks really close to the Mountain Dew video, no?
