Here's yours truly playing a cover of the R.E.M. classic "Pop Song 89" on my acoustic guitar. The video includes an overdub of two guitar parts (lead and rhythm), which I recorded separately and lots of editing. The words and music were written by Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and Michael Stipe, and appears as the first track on R.E.M.'s sixth studio album entitled Green, which was released in 1988. The song was released as a single and reached number eighty-six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts, number fourteen on the U.S. Billboard Modern Rock Tracks charts, and number sixteen on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts in 1988. The song was covered by Motion City Soundtrack for the album entitled Punk Goes 80's and Rockfour for their record entitled For Fans Only! Tell me what you think about my skills on the electric guitar or the song in general by leaving me a YouTube or Facebook comment and a rating on the video. I'm very serious about my musical talent. Peace.

POP SONG 89 (Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe)

Hello, I saw you, I know you, I knew you
I think I can remember your name...name
Hello I'm sorry, I lost myself
I think I thought you were someone else

Should we talk about the weather? (Hi...hi, hi)
Should we talk about the government? (Hi...hi, hi, hi)

Hello, how are you? I know you, I knew you
I think I can remember your name...name
Hello, I'm sorry I lost myself
I think I thought you were someone else

Should we talk about the weather? (Hi...hi, hi)
Should we talk about the government? (Hi...hi, hi, hi)

Hello my friend, are you visible today?
You know I never knew that it could be so strange...strange
Hello, I'm sorry, I lost myself
I think I thought you were someone else

Should we talk about the weather? (Hi...hi, hi)
Should we talk about the government? (Hi...hi, hi, hi)
