Why this Canadian farmer stopped growing GE canola

Canadian farmer Ross Murray used to grow genetically engineered (GE) canola. That is until he discovered the GE canola wasn't delivering on its promise and actually became a weed problem itself.

"The canola that grew in subsequent years became a weed problem, a weed problem that had to be managed, to be sprayed for," says Ross.

Along with US farmer Moe Parr, Ross is in Australia to speak with Australian farmers about his experiences growing GE canola.

@MrSag353 ge crops have saved milions of lives?? wheres the proof? LOL . Thats all PR lobbying from the CORPORATIONS who want to sell their wares. Dig a little deeper than the 1st 5 hits you get on google or yahoo. Better yet read confessions of an economic hitman. Although not directly about GE crops, it tells how corrupt corps and govt are. BTW the majority of GE crops are used as livestock feed and for ethanol. They literally have nothing to do with ending starvation

Why not file a class action lawsuit against this (govt) company for infecting the fields with the GE seed much like second hand smoke? This seeds pollen is responsible for infecting other "clean" fields much like second hand smoke infects clean air! has this ever been considered???

What you are saying robreiken is short sighted. There is more to Genetic Engineering than what Monsanto is doing. It has saved millions of lives...and some genetically engineered crops have great promise of increasing the live quality of many developing countries around the world. There are a lot of cons, but the pros cannot be forgotten. People should stop being paranoid. If you want to make comments like that you need proof from both sides.

So lets see, this crap poison food gives less yield production, it destroys all organic seeds , it gives you cancer, & the only one's to benefit is monsanto for the greed of money profit for it.
