It is, indeed, a motorcycle - 5th gearsa, manual clutch, you have to throw a leg over to get on. Scooters are step-thru and have automatic transmissions. It may not be a very powerful motorcycle, but it's definitely not a scooter.

You have to wind out 4th gear before switching to 5th gear, but I got it up to 65mph on the Interstate and I weigh 185lbs.
