How do America's actions in the war on terrorism compare to past conflicts when it comes to preserving civil liberties? XM Satellite host Bob Edwards questions Freedom House's use of history in its book, Today's American: How Free?, while Freedom House Board Vice-Chairman Stuart Eizenstat defends the practice.
Yes, everybody knows that during times of war there will be a huge low blow to human rights. This isn't the problem. The thing is that the war someone got us into is the kind of war that can never be won. And I kind of don't understand this irony that we fight against terrorists and everybody knows that a terrorist wins when he manages to terrorize us (make us change the way we live). On the other hand I do want to feel safe.
