although personally I'd use a 3 foot tall cylinder as a purely decorative item if i were to make one for myself. Whites a very traditional venetian glass color, used often for stripes and the like, because the venetians started making goblets for kings and such hundreds of years back.

uhm thats actually not true. glass batch is powder. it melts into molten liquid.

for it to be malleable it has to be around 1300 or so. not sure exactly

glass is the weirdest stuff, it has no melting temperature. It just gets softer as it gets hotter.

big cylinders wow people, and they look really good in living rooms with floral arrangements in them, people eatem up for that reason, and they're nice for studio owners to do because they're a simple effective item that is pretty well guarenteed to make cash. That and I personally enjoy them because they're a nice big palette to show off different color effects.
