You could make the argument that if a parent is so stupid, that they would deny their child medical care because of religious beliefs, and the child dies as a result, then that is Natural Selection in action.

When nature documentaries show a cute, fuzzy animal in the wild getting killed, they always say that saving the animal would be interfering with Natural Selection; which would be bad for the animal's species.

So should we not apply that principle to our own species?

"is it possible the bible has been misrepresented" notice the "is it possible" tactic employed constantly by Eric Hovind and his ilk. Not "has it been" or "is it likely to have been", "is it possible". It ensures a positive response, without a need for any kind of merit to the proposition. They're not in the mindset of let's find out what's true or likely. Everything they say is carefully crafted to advance their presupposition in any way they can with no regard for integrity.

I think that I have that same pamphlet. There is a local Jehovah's Witness church in my area but I've never had them stop at my house. A couple girls from a few states away were up here visiting friends and decided to go door-to-door passing out their pamphlets.

has the bible been misrepresented? OF COOOOURSE, but not in the way the witnesses thought when writing this. The way it has been misrepresented is taking it for the word of (a) god.
