um ya they do. bose is below entrylevel. bose is only midrange sound, they are ove priceed to. the indevidual drivers in bose systems cost undr $2 EACH they are cheap, sound like crap, and over priced like hell. never buy bose.

i got a couple of B&W speakers from my grandpa ? thought they were some old vintage crap.. maybe i shouldnt sell them on garage sale.. are they any good ?

The famous 602's! One of the best speakers B&W ever made for that price point! I preferred the 602's over the than current CDM1NT at double the cost!

true, bose sounds ok, but if i want the finer things in life, id go with the b&W, with bose down at the very bottom

They are the 602 S3. They sound alright, better then anything you can get at Best Buy or Circuit City. I wouldn't call them Hi-End. I don't have the dough for that stuff. But I'm happy with them most of the time.

I find you have to be fairly close to these speakers before they start to perform. They are an excellent speaker, under the right conditions. In a larger room they sound like any other speaker. In a small room while sitting 3 feet away from each they come alive, and you get that B&W sound that you paid for. For medium size rooms I find higher volume helps but not the same imaging as being close. The highs are a little too much.
