Deep Reef Channel

This large channel is the main drainage for the lagoon on this side of the island. It teems with a wide variety of life from small fish darting amongst the corals to Baracuda cruising overhead. A beautiful spot to dive and a great site for a Marine Protected Area with high biodiversity. Recently this beautiful coral environment and a large tract of the southern reef was set aside for conservation purposes. This will seed the surrounding reefs ensuring their productivity for fisherman and also preserve this beautiful marine area for tourists and islanders alike.
