Wilmington and Western Railroad - Lerro Productions Photo Charter

My video from the Lerro Productions photo charter held at the Wilmington & Western Railroad on January 29, 2011. It was a very interesting day, especially when 4-4-0 American #98 tried to get into and through the station. Some cool wheel slip footage there! Watch the video to see how it got resolved...but it turned out to be an awesome day overall. Thanks to the Wilmington and Western crews for all of their hard work, and the Lerro Productions team for putting on an awesome photo charter!!!

Was the train actaully stcuk or was that done as part of the photo charter (I know it actually got stuck but that seemed like a great picture/video opp. lol NIce video

See, the plan was, we clear the packed ice with the loader so 98's pilot would clear. however, after the loader came through, some of that packed ice ended up back in the flange way, so we brought the diesel through on the head end to run that over, rather than risk 98's pony truck jumping off. we just kept the diesel on the head end for the rest of the day as an extra safety precaution. it wouldn't be worth anything that has the risk of derailment.
