  • @wootga21 Canio was anything but Elegant. He suffers a mixture of emotions from Torment to jealousy anger and resentment,

  • @jd1906sf I agree with most of your statement. However Domingo is not a dramatic tenor.I believe he is a lyric spinto at best. Some SPINTO tenors were Caruso Corelli Tucker Campagnano Barioni Penno.Few are in the dramatic category like MDM Zenatello MartinelliTamagno De Muro Piccaluga Vinay Vickers Fleta & perhaps Pertile&Merli.Enjoy

  • Ridiii!, pagliaccioooo sul tuo amore infrantoooo

  • MARIO SEI IL NOSTRO ORGOGLIO!!!!!

  • And the oscar goes to...

  • Magnifico

  • Caspita!!! Mi ha fatto venire le lacrime....Grande Mario!!! Il migliore e il più appassionato di tutti i tempi!

  • When most tenors sing this, they try to portray Canio's sadness and heartbroken-ness. What they forget is that Canio is PISSED and ends up KILLING his own wife. I mean, if you knew your wife was cheating on you with someone else, making you a cuckold, and that the bastard was touring with you, you'd be angry as hell. del Monaco captures that perfectly and the acting is incredible. I have to say that this is the best version of the aria.

  • I've only recdently gotten into classical and opera pieces and it has to be said this is one of my favourates, followed by vide cor meum, this genre just tells a story like no other genre of music can

  • Laugh at the grief that poisons your heart!
