  • I was there trying to prevent bloodshed

  • @1984ioc Well ive seen mass rallies from the British people against the Iraq war... Cuts .. ban hunting etc etc never seen one to pull out of Northern Ireland ? ? We arent going to agree on much but that we support peace which is a good start one thinks :)

  • @GH169 Continued: ...be part of a Union when you are not even wanted in it.Of course they can't just pull out as it would cause a war among Unionists.Do you not find it weird that your own government (main one) are not even on the same island as you.Ye sing the English National Anthem and apparently love the Queen so why don't ye just move back to Britain so? I wouldn't exactly want say for example France running the Republic of Ireland (though they would do a better job ;-) ) .

  • @GH169 Yep it is a fact even in peace time.Do some research.Northern Ireland is not a self sustaining area and never will be.Britain sends over way more money to ye then what ye contribute towards the Exchequer.Everybody knows this and the last poll taken in Britain shows the vast majority want ye out of the Union asap.Don't get me wrong,i'm not saying the ROI would take over as we can't even look after ourselves but that's another story.

All i'm saying it must be pretty embarrassing to....

  • @1984ioc Stakeknife was killing IRA men for being so-called touts yet he was one all along...... If London didnt want Northern Ireland they could have sent in Peace Keepers from europe in 1969... instead of sending British Soldiers and kept sending them over the last 40 years spending alot of money and a heavy death toll to British Soldiers....N.I costed more during the troubles yet peace time there now a thorn for the Exchequer ? ? Yes making British Rule work after fighting it 30years

  • @1984ioc IRA Families got money for deaths of IRA members and told its against the law for the SAS to take them out yet proof was in the funerals they got.... The EU and human right groups were putting pressure on the British Goverment to stop such acts yet only since the troubles stopped started to bring up the Dissappered.... Could the IRA get any worst since the early 1980s when the hunger strikers died ? ? by the 1990`s certain high level IRA men were touts and more came out 2000`s

  • @GH169 Continued: ...do you honestly think the IRA would have not stepped up their effort should such tactics have been used.

As for making British rule work,it is the want of the majority in NI to remain part of the UK for the moment.Alot of Unionist don't even realise that London would drop NI out of the Union in a second if it could. For the last 50 years NI has been a thorn in the Exchequer.NI is not self sustaining and can's survive on it's own.ROI certainly couldn't afford to take it.

  • @GH169 " The British Goverment had the EU and human right groups to defend the IRA"

Could you back that up with some proof please.Just send me on a link or whatever. Also with some of the torture methods used by the British during the troubles.Britain were the ones that were in trouble with the EU and human rights groups.GB was even fined and warned by the EU for some of their behaviour.

If the SAS had a free run, then for every person they killed another 2 would have joined the IRA and also...

  • @1984ioc The ira had been and even there origination's to this day are infiltrated. how else did they know everyone. fact is after the downing st bomb which may i add would not have bothered me if it git them all... well if thatcher had her way the top men were dead but she was stopped. so they knew who they were but never acted, what does that tell you?now a question why are the provos still at it? ira stopped so why the continuous?

  • @1984ioc The British Goverment had the EU and human right groups to defend the IRA...lucky for them the SAS didnt have a free run.... Fair play to the RA now for making peace and British Rule work in Northern Ireland
