Hyundai Elantra. Hyundai calls the new Elantra Touring a five-door, but to call it a small wagon would be no less accurate. In addition to more cargo space and versatility than the Elantra sedan, the Touring features a sportier suspension that promises livelier handling. The shared powertrain comprises a 141-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine matched with either a five-speed manual or four-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission. XM satellite radio is standard, as is a USB port that offers iPod control via the steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Look for it toward the end of 2008 at prices somewhere north of the sedan's. • This Elantra touring looks nothing like the Matrix ...

  • The Canadian versions do not have Electronic Stability Control available in any model. I can't figure that one out.

  • The GLS model has electronic stability control.

  • @tiffanylharris it dosent look like a toyota lol and you should look at the 2011 elantra noth the touring i like both and the elantra is very nice

  • It's got ECS now.

  • I had problems with knee room in the redesigned 09 Matrix - kept hitting the dash, and I didn't have that problem with the 09 Corolla. The opening is just wider. So I'll be interested to see how that is in the Elantra Touring.

  • I have a 1998 Tiburon with 210,000 miles. The car has been beaten and the car still runs well. When I hit 230,000, I'm getting a new Genesis Coupe.

  • my elantra now has 275,000 on it and still running like a champ....i am upgrading to the 2010 touring next week....

as far as comparing it to toyota...the only difference is i dont believe the touring comes with a suicide pedal as the toyota does!!!!

  • my car is barely on 7,000 which its nothing yet but it still runs like when it was new and i havent had any problems with it yet but i think its safe to say once it reaches 100,000 in gettin rid of it and buy another one

  • the only thing wrong with hyundai's is poor resale value and low durability and low tech engeenering..i mean common how can you even compare a toyota with hyundai. may be in the first sight it catches you but wait till it gets 100,000 km on it

  • I agree

  • not only is better then the matrix its bigger too, and im saying this because ive had the sport matrix and now i have the elantra touring n this car is by far better than the matrix, speakers are better quality gas mileage is better sufficient and also this one has a direct connection for ur ipod n with the matrix u gotta use the aux n that takes about 30% off of the sound quality, the matrix is a nicer looking car but does not give u your moneys worth
