Uh, this IS his day job. He's not as famous as his dad, but he makes a living singing jazz. His younger half-brother, James Torme, is an even better singer and sings fresh versions of the stuff their father used to sing. Check him out!
I used to be the President of the Steve March (Torme) fan club. Literally. I was an intern for David Mirisch Enterprises, where Steve was a teen heart throb and my job was to get him publicity and get him on the cover of Tiger Beat. Wonder if he remembers. I live in CT now and see he is coming to Stamford. Nice voice. Just heard him on You Tube. "And Steeevveeee..." "
I saw Steve play selections from "Lucky" in West Hollywood years and years ago. My buddy and I spoke with him during the break mostly about his large white cat on the album cover. I had no idea he was Mel Tome's son! He was a real nice guy to talk with about cat antics and a fantastic entertainer. "Lucky" is a great album. It caught my ear right away! I'm sure there's a lot of other great stuff out there by Steve March Torme I haven't yet heard but should.
Ecellent Steve. Your dad is proud of you. You have a very bright future. Your dad was a great guy and I saw many of his shows and was always impressed. God bless. de Rango8
Steve, I knew your dad, he was great but you have the potential to do equally as well. Eccellent range, control, and song list. Good to hear you man. All the best. Rango8
Ok, I would like to leave a comment here. Me and my mother (who is Steven's sister!!!) think we should be mentioned in this song because I was named after Hal March. My name is Halle and I am shocked that I am never mentioned in any of my families articles and stuff. We love you Uncle Steven! Great by the way!
Bradelbee, Thanks for the nice words. I don't see "Full Swing" being released any time soon but I'll have a new CD entitled "Inside/Out" out in about a month. I think you'll be pleased.
I get your drift there, "Lucky"! I bought that album and listened to it faithfully. You should know "Lucky" had special meaning to me. My dad died shortly before the release and there was something very appealing about that album. I got a letter or two from Steve back then and he told me his dad had passed, too. What he didn't tell me was that his "other" real dad was still around. He never bothered to tell me in his letters who his real father was and I did not find out until decades later.

Great Steve! And what a GREAT Jerome Kern song. Along with your Dad's version, I also enjoy David Allyn's recording. It's here somewhere on YouTube.
