The first in a series of home-made documentaries about my time living and working in Japan. The first part gives a general introduction and introduces the junior high school in which I worked using some random footage I recorded out there. The forth-coming parts will look at the location in which I lived, the local culture, along with my time working in elementary schools. Some of the subtitles go wrong in places but I just got so tired of troubleshooting them. I will NEVER subtitle anything ever again.........until my next video. Thanks for watching.

  • brilliant clips.. thanks for sharing your experiences... Your fluency in Japanese is really impressive? How long did it take you to become that fluent? Did you start learning prior to moving? (sorry two questions lol)

  • @icyez87 Thank you. Although I was along way from being fluent, I was intermediate at best. I started studying just before I went over there. I worked really hard for 2 years or so but in my last year I slacked off something awful!

  • If you didn't go through a program, how did you get in touch with the schools to get the job?

  • @imdaman765 It was a fluke. I was contacted by a local private school who was recruiting on behalf of the local Board of Education.

  • omg, i bet that was the best experience of your life. IF i may ask what program did you go through in order to teach there. Or what are the requirements i should say.

  • @danera20 I didn't go through a program, although I hear the JET programme is still popular. Technically all you need is a university degree, but a lot of companies also like people to have TEFL qualifications. Good luck!

  • lol all the female teachers are really cute

somehow this seems like 1999 early 2000, the flat screens on the teachers room say otherwise though, probably is the remote location that makes it seem old
