This is done as a request by a subscriber =P

As my video editing skills aren't the best, I apologise for the stretched windows when the layers are on-screen. I also apologise that this tutorial is in parts =/

As this drawing is pretty detailed I will only cover the basics e.g. skin, eyes, hair and clothes... other details might be missed out but if you see something and you don't know how I did it, ask me and I'll explain =]

  • how do i make the lineart layer? Am I supposed to draw it with Photoshop, or is there some way for me to have a background layer along with an imported picture without drawing it?

  • @Hiromu656

I make a new layer over my sketch and carefully draw it in photoshop. But if you want to import a picture of lineart and you need to separate it from the background I will post a link to a tutorial on your page

  • Can you do this with adobe photoshop elements?

  • @SugarPaw1233 I'm sorry I've never used elements so I don't know :/

  • Can ya tell me the song u used in this vid? ^^

Btw, i tried ur turtorial, but the lineart is away if i fill the skin with colours ._.

(Sorries for bad english, it isnt perfect :P)

  • the first song is: Mask - Tamerai jisatsu singou

the second song is: Fairy Fore - Planetary

Make sure the lineart is on it's own layer. And then put any colouring layers UNDERNEATH the lineart layer. Then the lineart should show through.

  • i can do this on 1 layer : O Ctrl Z is magical

  • can any one direct me to a tutorial series like this for Photoshop elements 8.0??

  • @SugarPaw1233

I have Elements, it's possible to do what he's doing in this video, but you'll have to change the way you do it. (Mainly creating the Background along with a lineart layer)

  • @Ryuuji91

Oh, never mind, I found out how to do it. Thanks a lot for this tutorial though. :)
