Senators Jeff Sessions, Mitch McConnell and Jon Kyl express support for the Republican budget plan to end Medicare as we know it. Seniors would pay $6,359 more under the Republican proposal.
Very few seniors would be able to afford an extra $6,000 plus a year. This would leave many opting out of having insurance which we know from stats would result in many deaths. The uninsured die at a much higher rate, as delaying to get medical treatment because they fear the bill, results in a fatal delay all too often. If something as common as pneumonia can kill quickly if treatment is delayed a day.
I can't believe my grandparents party has devolved to outright attacking seniors.
(Continuation of comment)As seniors age & typically have more health problems their ability to fight long battles with insurance companies will diminish, thus that's 1 of the reasons we should not place the burden of a voucher system on our seniors. For many years I had to deal directly with insurance companies over individual health policies. From my experiences I absolutely don't want our seniors to ever have to go what I went through.Medicare, not vouchers,is the way forward.

It's only sensible for seniors to pay more for their health care.
After all, Republicans must find sources of funds for more tax cuts for the rich and more taxpayer subsidies to top up the profits of big oil.
