  • hi...can you install compiz to the dell netbook..?thanks

  • I think the newer releases of Ubuntu Desktop run Compiz and they run fine on it.

Personally I would prefer a super-light interface that doesn't suck battery and bog you down with useless effects.

  • the dell utility partition i believe is to restore with their factory disc

  • Yeah, but that isn't going to help if you've formatted the disc. :)

  • or you could run os x

  • can you go and get the latest version of dell's ubuntu each time there is a new version of ubuntu released? For instance does dell make a version based off of 10.04 lucid lynx? I know you can download normal ubuntu however it doesn't come with the groups on the desktop.

  • I'm probably going to order one next week but I'm going with the higher res screen and the extra memory.

  • Cant belive but i love the way ubuntu looks on it, i think i will test hackintosh and ubunto, excited wich works better for me.

  • theres a good one on gizmodo

  • I just ordered this laptop :) nice video I might get Ubuntu on it

  • can you recommend a tutorial to hackintosh? I'll be doing the same thing.

  • True, which is why I personally find them a waste since I format as soon as I get a new PC.
