  • I'm glad they had Carlos Fuentes in this documentary, he is one of the most recognize and authorized intelectuals in Mexico.

  • Maybe some day there will be a revival of the Aztec culture. But first Mexicans and those of Mexican descent have to get educated and gain enough influence to spark it.

  • thats why i hate spaniards! they destroyed and hurt aztecs!! anyways i have aztec blood still!! and im proud of it!! aztecs could won that war! but moctezuma didnt want to attack cortez at the begining! fuck spain fuck all their people!!

  • I think I know more historical fact than Fuentes. The Aztecs practised Baptism for infants BEFORE ANY SPANIARD came into the picture; the birth of a child was a big event and there were many involved in the celebration, the name based on favorable astrological positions. Their most revered god was a goddess which is why they now revere the Virgin Mary even more than Jesus. The Spaniards could not destroy their religious deities or beliefs for the Aztecs were a highly religious society.

  • Mexicans want to learn about their great Aztec Empire history? Start by reading a book entitled: Daily Life of the Aztecs by Jacques Soustelle; this book should be on every Mexican kid's book shelf.

  • It is propaganda in the sense the facts have been distorted to show still a savage people only tempered slightly here and the false impression that the Aztecs serpent god was anything remotely close to a "fair-skinned ruler." Modern scholars and historians reject that as Spanish revisionist history. Unfortunately, this documentary, & I've seen 2 segments doesn't speak to the real truth. Even 80 thousand killed at one time has been regarded as an numerical IMPOSSIBILITY so why repeat it the lie?
