This is my fave Carry On film, just love everything about it - the music, the plot, the era, the cars (mk1 Cortina's) and of course the actors. Charles Hawtrey was just so comical, always has me in stitches!

Absolutely true. Real life wasn't so kind to him or fellow Carry On star Kenneth Williams. Although they were both brilliant at making other people laugh, they both lived miserable lives and died miserable. Charles Hawtrey was also extremely eccentric. He collected discarded brass beds thinking the price of brass would rise and make him rich.
