Filmmaker Patrick Weir opened up a can of worms in late 2007 by introducing this concept trailer to longboarding enthusiasts and fellow filmmaker Dan Pape. The trailer created so much hype that thousands of hungry longboarders were hungry for more vids like it. It was the first quality produced trailer for the sport of longboarding. Since nobody had seen HD video of this caliber for the sport, riders and fans of Colabo alike were unhappy when the video was suddenly taken down. The trailer was meant to be a concept trailer that we were working on and eventually let the cat out of the bag.
Little did Colabo know that others would invest tens of thousands of dollars to beat the innovative company to the punch. The problem for them was despite the investments, the caliber of the riders on Team Colabo and the Innovative Filmmakers that made up the Film Squad were untouchable.
13 months Later The Fellowship of the Bearing was released changing the way downhill skateboarding Films were made, forever.
