  • @drag600 it the wire is attracted to the magnet, then no, because it would be stuck. it needs to be metal (copper) but not magnetic.

  • I'm trying to do this with a copper wire, a AA battery (1.5v) and a ceramic disk magnet ( I think that is what its called) but it isn't working. Do you need neodymium magnets for this to work?
