It is an eastern box turtle, they are not a species that is found near water, infact they will drown because box turtles are not able to swim. They sink like a rock so don't relocate them to any water deeper then they can walk in. They are more like tortosis then turtles.

Thanks for the insight Jake, it is greatly appreciated. I figured he was there for a reason so I had no intentions of relocating him. I left him right there where I found him.
