A preview for the 61 minute documentary film directed by Ian Helliwell, examining early electronic music in Britain, focussing on the work of inventor, engineer, writer and musician F.C. Judd.
The film investigates the untold story of amateur tape recording, and Fred Judd's role in encouraging hobbyists to experiment with the then little known sound worlds of musique concrete and electronics.
His story is told through cine film, archive footage, animation and collage -- all materials that Helliwell has a unique affinity with.
The documentary has no interviewees, and is rooted in the experimental world that Fred inhabited during the 1960s - narration, electronic sounds and his voice tell the story.

  • Would really like to see the full thing- I read that's it's not likely to get a DVD release at present, so any chance of you touring it around the UK?
