oh and also, the part begining at around 1 minute, is that all up strokes like a sweep or alternating picks? i assume it can be played either way i'm just curious...

hey deathmetalguy glad you liked it, that part is just alternate picking...getting the sound on your amp is a whole other story...totally depends on the amp...just remember tremolo and spring reverb, that's the magical combination ; )

I was using software called guitar rig 2 and the computer was plugged into the stereo. The settings were the Fender Twin Reverb model, spring reverb, and digital delay.

thanks for the advice, actually i'm using this software called guitar rig. it has a bunch of different amp and effects models. i used the surf rock preset then tweaked with it a bit to get the sound similar enough to the actual song
