What we here is Selective Prosecution with all the Corruption in Chicago with Mayor Daley and the FEDS is going after Rod Blagojevich.That dog don't hunt !!! The corruption is at City Hall FEDS.If Congressman Jesse Jackson,Jr can raise $6 Million dollars to get the U.S. Senate seat from Illinois.Then Congressman Jackson can raise the money to bring jobs to his district.Where is the third airport idea or is it all just about you representative ???

This is not about his constitutional rights to bring witnesses, that will come in the defence trial. This is about his PRIVELIDGE to be a governer and weather their is suffficient information to convince the senators that he has abused that priviledge. Who is he fighting for, the president, mayor of IL and 93% of the people want him gone, those are the facts.

He beat the U.S. Senate (politically) over the Burris nomination.
Maybe he can beat the Illinois Senate (politically) over his impeachment? -- not likely...
But he certainly can't beat them legally or procedurally - thus, a media/political blitz. Crazy and oddly smart - in my opinion.

We seem to be getting our standards of proof and legal cliches mixed up here.
The impeachment trial is just a legislative firing. No "guilt" need be proven, thus none need be disproven.
The standard is MUCH lower as Blago is not being deprived of life or liberty. Only property (in the legal sense). Thus, the Fifth Amendment - NOT the Sixth applies.
"Innocence before guilt" simply is not applicable here.
And yes - they can do this to us - if we happen to be a Governor being impeached.
