@aj5024 It's not really just socialism, but any kind of utopianism that leads to dictatorships. When you believe a perfect society is possible somewhere in the future, almost anything you do in the present becomes justifiable. Socialism was a wonderful but naive dream in a more innocent era, based on simple yearnings for fairness. It's a little coarse to blame people for not knowing in the past what we know now, that it simply doesn't work.

David Horowitz can testify to the fact that leftest movements are the road to totalitarianism, and yet today, we romantize it in Hollywood as a true struggle against tyrants, only to ignore true tyrants of the 20th century. Don't tell me that socialist leftest communists are intellectuals.
