@t1sutton I don't care, it's bullying. Be more considerate and forgiving to others is the message. This is so unbelievably smallminded and petty I despair. Fuck me sideways!

@gigwhipx10fast I think you needs your eys tested - I am NOT the video uploader... I'm just a random person commenting to your comment. It's common sense that all peds NEED to look when they cross the road. The video uploader had already said he had his hands over the brakes & she paused. Then she changed her mind & ran across the road LOOKING AWAY from the cyclist. In other words, she knew she was wrong but she decides 'sod it', did it and hope she deosn't make any eye contacts.

@t1sutton Are you an optician? How do you know? Very possibly when she looked you were hidden by a car. There is absolutely no clearly about it. The onus is on you to take pedestrians into account. As a cyclist it is your duty. You have no excuse. A very poor display of selfishness.

@gigwhipx10fast "So you expect a woman walking across the road to slow down and wait for you to pass?" Actually, she should be checking for traffic before she crossed the road. She clearly did not.

So you expect a woman walking across the road to slow down and wait for you to pass? leaving her exposed for your convenience and to save on your brake blocks. As for kids cycling on the pavement; your video shows that there is no one around to give due care check it out when you pause it, as you say they are just kids. You are either a grumpy cyclist or looking for the weakest excuse to demonstrate that you have a camera mounted on your helmet. Isn't your saddle uncomfortable enough?

Happens to me all the time I was going about 40km/h keeping up with traffic and a group of pedestrians ran in front of me, barely stopped. As for the texting...cool people ride with no hands in full control and text haha.
-
@Zziggi He's more likely using a camera attached to his cycle helmet.

i don't think it would have hurt you to wave the girl through so she didn't have to worry about being run over in the street by one of those car drivers that you so despise

@sh4rkybloke fair comment as i said before you see more than the camera so i now understand why you say dont do it. ty for the reply as watching again after your reply can see you was right
OK before they rn in front of you you arte like dont do it so why did you not slow down
because you are a bike rider and dont care well go read the high way code you like all over road users have to slow down for people walking yes walking
look well ahead for obstructions in the road, so that you do not have to swerve suddenly to avoid them. Leave plenty of room when passing parked vehicles and watch out for doors being opened or pedestrians stepping into your path

@dennislions1 I was covering the brakes in anticipation, but based her actions on what I would have done (i.e. I've seen the cyclist so I'll simply delay slightly to allow them to pass, then walk behind them) which was my mistake. She paused and then just started running, and I braked as required. No harm done, just a pretty silly way to cross a road.

wow cyclists on the pavement, youtube shocker.
What about the guy riding at pace with a video camera in one hand?
Zziggi 2 years ago
Didn't see the guy you're referring to with the video camera in one hand... where was he?
I'm assuming you mean me... yeah, I just cycle round holding a video camera. *rolls eyes*
The camera is mounted on my helmet... seems rather more sensible don't you think?

I've no objection to kids being on the pavement, I'm sure we all did it and taking a look at the vids of dangerous driving on you-tube they can rightly be wise to do so.
As for the girl crossing, don't forget it's a researched fact that the young and elderly have a poor sense of speed judgement and all road users need to exercise extra caution when they are around, tbh , I would have slowed or even waved her across.

Kids on pavements are okay (to a point)... but these weren't moving particularly slowly, or with any due care for anyone else who happened to be around.
As for the crosser... it was just that she saw me, slowed a bit, then just ran for it. I wasn't majorly close to her, but it was a bit annoying all the same - it's a longish uphill part of my journey leading to a short, sharp hill at the lights so I like to try and maintain the pace. Brake blocks cost money, you know!!! ;-)
