My first vid on Youtube. Just wanna share the sounds of these synths. Wanna share them with those who maybe think about buying one of these synths (secondhand). These models are older ones. With older ones it is harder to find preset-/play demo' s on the net, and IF you find them it is mostly well-produced demo-songs aimed on selling. So here just an example of some sounds of Roland XP 50 and Korg Triton Le. If you want to hear more sounds or wanna see more of either the XP or the Triton just let me know, I might make seperated vids then.

  • hi , i have a korg tr ( =korg triton le ) and I play in a pop-rock band I find the korgs sound too thin is the xp 60 , 50 or 80 more "fat" sounding or could you recommend me a sample based synth?

  • @Sylviamarta :

Hi,to my opinion: The xp series are (compared to Triton Le) ' fatter' indeed when it comes to acoustic instruments and also strings and brass. On the other side I think the Triton Le to me is stronger in electronic/synthesis sounds. The leads and pads over there sound fatter to me then. I think when you compare these two synths, the Triton Le needs more tweaking to get what you want to hear and Roland sounds are more ready-to-play. Sample-based you may consider Roland Fantom X

  • @cj4everjava Hey dude, I have question to you regarding the keyboard (Roland XP-50), I wonder, has this product have special acoustic / solo instruments sound that included Hip Hop and RnB/Jazz loops in the equivalent of the 90's, (not only the content of the modern atmosphere as examples Techno / Trance)????

And how many sounds does it have??

    Looking forward your answer. Thanks!

  • @ThughGThing :

Well, you can expand the XP-50 with SR-JV expansionboards, and to your particular case you could add the SRJV-12 Hip Hop Expansion, a lot of typical 90's atmosphere hiphop/r&b sounds, you'll get 256 extra patches (sounds) , 8 rhythm sets and 40 ready-to-roll rhythm-loops . Check out Google/Youtube for more info and demos of that card. That hiphop-expansion is quite cheap nowadays 2nd hand :-)

  • Is it posible to add effects in real time on the xp50? I have the Roland Xp50 and i dont know how to use it very well so I ask you...

  • @JuanPablo13011988 :

    I don't have the XP-50 anymore, I replaced it with Roland Fantom X7 :-)

But anyway I never really used realtime effects-adding so I am afraid I can not help you with that anyway :(

Good luck anyway with finding the answer !

  • @cj4everjava Thank you for recommendation. I want ask you the last question regarding the Yamaha MM6 and Roland xp-50

Which of these products have more high quality level, dynamic & realistic sounds to be sure?

  • @HMEMASSIVE You are totally right. Even though you can get the same organ sound on all the XP's with a little tweaking. And the XP-10 you can actually find for around 200 dollars with a litlle luck. I've been playing reggae/dancehall professionally for about 7 years and the XP-50 has been such a blessing. I use for ALL gigs and I have the Vintage Synth expansion + Key's of the 60's & 70's and i never come short of any sound. Amazing that I bought it for 400 dollars! Jah Bless

  • @tmfitz For the bubble I would go with the roland XP-series. It has a organ sound called Ballad B and it is in all the XP models. If you are going to use for bubble only I would recommend the XP-10 since it has a kicking bubble sound: full organ. It is extremely lightweight and easy to carry + if you are lucky you can get it for around 200 dollars. I have been playing reggae music professionally for 7 years and I see all the big names using the XP-series (Buju, Steel Pulse etc.)

  • @cj4everjava thank you
