Agile AL-3100 pickup comparison - Stock Alnico V versus Motor City Pickups Black Belts Part 2

In this video, the Agile is loaded with Motor City Pickups Black Belt with an Alnico V magnet. Bridge read DC resistance of 8.1, the neck read 7.7. Replacement Switch-craft 3-way toggle.

I replaced the stock pickups in my Agile Al-3100 to a custom pair of Motor City Pickups, the Black Belt model with Alnico V magnets, these videos are the before and after.

I am running through an MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe, sometimes stacked with an OKKO Dominator. Dry and effected, FX are a MXR Carbon Copy and a TC Electronic HoF Reverb into an Egnator Tweaker. Tone controls pretty close to flat, clean setting, gain on 3, master on 4. Extension tweaker cab.

It seems these come stock with alnico IVs. I like the sound of your pups and just wanted to make sure they are alnico V. Did you custom order them like that?

Nice improvement! Thanks for making me want to spend more money on the AL 3125 I just got, that sucks! I have a question, when you switched to both pickups It sounded out of phase, could you have accidentally switched a wire in your switch ? I saw by your face you thought it didn't sound right either. Thanks for the nice video! I think the Agile is a nice axe regardless of price and now yours really shines!
