Seth van Hooland, Max De Wilde, and Ruben Verborgh introduce Free Your Metadata.
The Free Your Metadata project shows how easy it is to polish and publish your cultural heritage metadata. Using Google Refine, first clean the metadata, and then, reconcile it against controlled vocabularies. This is the straightforward way to make your metadata part of the Linked Data Cloud.
On the website, you will find detailed tutorials and screencasts to get started with your own metadata. An example using the Powerhouse Museum collection metadata, walks you through the essential features of Google Refine.
