i was so surprised the guy is swimming upsided-down right after changing directions. i just did this, and hated the feeling of nose/mouth facing the surface. felt like i was at risk of taking in water thru the nose.
my coach tells me i have to do a flip turn and also three strokes before i breathe. i find this ridiculously hard and can only do it on the first set. should i not be breathing out of my nose during flip turns. how can i do this w/o almost drowning
haha i know what you mean i always breath out my nose, im in highschool so i dont know much but i can ussually do a 50 free in under 2 total breaths, try doing lung busters at practices
@junkevin As you keep practicing it'll become second nature to you. When I started swimming I was taking a breath every 2 strokes and doing open turns. Now I'm taking a breath every 3 or 4 strokes and doing flip turns all the time. Just give it some time.
Ugh I've been doing it wrong. I always turn then spin, so that I'm right side up, before kicking off. It alway cost me like half a second because I'd turn and use my arms to push myself into the wall, to try and get a better kick
