Tribute to Our Boxer Dog Dempsey

This is a video tribute to our boxer that we had to put down on July 8, 2009. It was very hard to do and our family loved him so much. Definitely "gone too soon." He was 11 years old. Born 4/2/98 and died 7/8/09.

Thanks to those who have commented. Sorry I haven't been on here. No, we haven't gotten another boxer yet. Not sure if we will. July 8th will be a year and I still cry when I watch this. I think this one hurt the most because we had to put him down and he didn't just die on his own like the other two did.

Thanks for viewing my video. How long did you wait before you rescued the two boxers? I cannot imagine my mom getting another dog so quickly and hope she waits.

I am sorry for your loss. I know it is tough.  I was looking at the dates and I notice your boxers life was very close to our's. Our boxer Buster was born on April 6th 1998 and we had to put him down on Aug 25th 2009. I have a video up of him as well. Take care.

boy your Dempsey was, as they song says they all leave us far too soon, I have been

in your shoes and I understand it can be so hard to bear at times, Dempsey

is with your other two, playing now and waiting for the day you will all be together

i had a boxer called Dempsey, and my dad gave him away a while ago.

its crazy how much i miss him.

I think the actual amount of time is different for everyone, but letting yourself work through some grief is usually helpful.

My husband starting looking at boxer rescues online about 2 weeks after our first boxer died. I made him wait another 6 weeks because I wasn't ready.

After our second boxer died 6 months later, we again waited 2 months. I think in our case it was also a matter of the rescue having dogs that were well-suited to our home, otherwise we might have had to wait longer.
