Hi & Thank you for visiting & taking a look.

Kidlets helped sugarplum do the show ... so yes amateurs thats for sure nothing too fantasic lol. Again thank you for viewing:o)

In doing this portrait is the hopes of doing more paintings of soldiers/marines/sailors or civilians who served during the Nam War. ( plus will be doing non nam series)

Sugarplum has decided to post an incomplete painting & let you see the process of a painting in progress & being incomplete & unfinished, to the finishing line!

Sugarplum is letting the portrait of "My Portrait of Saigon" begin to speak for itself. Therefore there will be no footnotes for now until later when the painting is nearing to completion or when she feels up to sharing.

Please look out for the finish " master piece" of sugarplum.

This certainly has been a very difficult painting to do. Lots of sweat & tears.
In a sleepy town sugarplum had a quest to meet REAL LIVE AMERICAN GIs to begin to ask about their time in Nam so maybe one day could put some puzzle pieces together.

the Years went by .... & there was a time of silence as if the Nam \war didn's exist & traversing the globe looking & searching for answers but only left more questions being asked yet dreams came to pass & many of her dreams came true! PTL.

Sugarplum's LAST & final search for Ba feb 8th & 9th 2010
2010 the year during Tet & coinciding with Feb 14th ! ....Sugarplum was found by her nurses looking for sugarplum from Hoi Duc Anh & Allambie that were orphanages during nam war in saigon!

Thank you for serving in Nam whether in the military or as a civillain.

Welcome Home .... love sugarplum

To those who permitted me to begin the painting of REAL nam vets thank you to USMC/CAP Marine/US Navy/USAF/U Army & nam vets the civilian Wendy & Ba. ( have yet to ask Judy. ) The ladies are our nurses. thank you love always.

If you like to leave a comment ... sugarplum would be delighted :o)

  • Very, very moving, Sugarplum, thank you for sharing this with me; your very own Guernica. I hope all your sadness and misery heals finally, and you find peace, love and contentment in this life. In spite of what you have been through, there is great love in this world, and wonderful people not out to hurt.

    Sincerely,

    Cameron Hood

  • Thank you for your time & supportive words its a place sugarplum has not been able to tread down the path for most of her life & for most of it its been blocked out until the body said its time to start the journey of healing! as for love in the world there is certainly various types of love that ends up being unpeeled & the truth of each kinda of love is shown from the one type which is selfless whilst the other is selfish! one of these days sugarplum intends to go & listen to your music!
