2009 AIANC Design Awards - Optima - COTE

Architect: TobinDudleyStarr - Optima Engineering requested a 14,000 square foot, environmentally responsible, contemporary office space to live up to and reinforce their brand message. Located on the 3rd floor of a LEED-certified shell building, the Platinum LEED for commercial interiors space features more than 75 percent day lighting, environmentally sustainable materials, efficient mechanical systems, and a photovoltaic system producing 11 percent of their energy needs. The space uses 30 percent less energy than a typical office space, and visitors can track real-time energy production and efficiency of the space both on Optimas web site and on monitors located in the reception area.
