The point that I was trying to make was that that there is no point on black men hating on the thugs, because society doesn't really differentiate between the two anyway. In my opinion, brothers shouldn't even WORRY about how some other black man may look to other people, and just worry about THEMSELVES.

Most people can already tell, most of the time, the good black men from the bad ones, it's just that they don't CARE either way.

Yes,regardless black men will be perceived negatively anyhow,but the objective in being a honest,upstanding black man shouldn't be for non-black recognition anyway.It should be for the sake of being a moral person.

"Good" black men should differentiate themselves from thugs in order to set a standard.If a community doesn't have standards then it doesn't have structure or anything to aspire to then anything goes and therefore it's nothing but crap.

Let me tell ya, bro, I wore a suite everyday to work. American worship suites. People held doors for me, called me 'sir' always made comments about how good looking I was. Now juxtapose that without the suite and there was a big difference. I did find some people where 'intimidated' when I was dressed in regular clothes.  It's natural for people to crave the attention of people who don't seem to care what they think.
