can somebody tell me why the gun seems farther away from the player than normal

@tophfreak45 Its called Field of view (aka FoV)

PC get the option to change it, consoles dont. one of the reasons why pc gaming is better, more customisation :)

I say that the cod 4 view looks a lot cooler than the mw3 view.
