After the child has been introduced to the dental laser in an introductory session, where no actual treatment took place, now it's time to get a real cavity cleaned out. What Dr. Sarkissian does, is getting rid of 'bugs.' As he had previously explained, he will use the laser while counting to five - later to seven, when possible without disturbing the child - and then take a break.
The little patient in this video is very co-operative and it is clearly visible that the initial session, used to introduce the laser in a playful manner, really pays off. There is no fear of the dentist and no need to hold the little patient in place - she just plays along.
At Dr. Sarkissian's web site http://www.SarkissianDDS.com you can learn more about the philosophy and methods of a leading homeopathic dentist in the Los Angeles area. Another good resource is the blog http://www.homeopathic-dentistry.com.

We always rehearse the procedure of both the laser, the water spray and even the suction. The child is made to close around the small suction after the promised seconds go by. That also makes her feel safe that after the 5 or 7 seconds, there is relief. The laser energy is kept at a minimum.

you know i hate going to the dentist because ever since i was 7 i was tramatised (i dont know how you spell that) because i had to remove my tooth and the procedure hurt so bad that i could not eat for days. Now i developed 3 cavities but i dont want to have the needle all i want is a painless procedure and if this is true then i might do this instead
