Out of media: DesignJet has come to the end of a roll.

If these messages are not correct for the given condition then you may well have a hardware problem.

It's difficult to ascertain exactly what is going on without being in front of the DesignJet, it worth checking that the media sensor is in place & both sensor flags are intact, this is located on the RHS of the print platen & should be visible from the underside of the DesignJet. It can be pulled down to unclip it.

    Hi,

Difficult to say, the DesignJet won't be displaying all these messages at the same time and may all be correct:

Load media: The DesignJet has a print job or alignment pending & requires paper to carry it out.

Ready for media: A normal message when the DesignJet has booted without any media loaded.

Media too small: Normally seen when a print head alignment is pending & you have loaded an A4 sheet, from memory I think the minimum paper size to run an alignment is A2.

  • I have my paper loaded correctly and am getting the following three messages: Load media, ready for media, media too small and out of media. Faulty Printer?

Thanks, glad you find them useful :-)
