We sneaked the Garmin Nuvi 265WT GPS onto a commercial flight during take off and at cruising altitude to see how well the tracking would be. Just like with the private jet in the previous video, the Nuvi performed like a champ. Although this time, we didn't reach the 600+ mph but did get up to around 40,000 feet.

  • I have to say, that was bloody impressive, love the idea =D

  • @speedbird009K Check out the other video where we went around 500mph ground speed.

  • Hallucination Mix :) Best version of the song. The song is about running away from drug abuse, hence the name of the mix.

Anyway, I tried this using the GPS on my Evo smartphone on my Florida trip last year and it got up to 199 and then stopped working :(

  • @alias3729 At least you went past 88 mph. :-)

  • i love all the people that comment on videos like this and complain about having an electronic device on. theres no effect if my Garmin Nuvi or my cellphone is on. quit your complaining.

  • @Homeskillet1991 Yeah, check out my other video where I do it on a private plane. If the pilots don't mind, then...

  • @ObamaWhyNotBluRay Seriously. Look at the other video where I do the same thing but on a private plane without a flight crew. The pilots don't seem to mind and if there's really any interference, it'd affect the smaller plane much more.

Also, this is a gps RECEIVER.

  • cool... and then i noticed i recognized the streets! at 3:04 you flew past my house LOL

    Thanks for sharing

  • I always wanted to do it myself but I thought it was illegal ... Anyway, congratulations for the video

  • @stasisnu18

Is IS music from the 90's.

    I recognize this song.

  • love the music, reminds me of the eurodance in the 90s :D

  • 02:24 - it'll be interesting to see what the fuel cost of that trip would have been compared to the journey by car! hehe.

    Fantastic vid :D

  • @amiga2000 As a pilot, I can assure you there is no issue with interference. The FAA rules regarding electronics usage in passenger aircraft is about having the passengers ready for evacuation. This is why they ask you to turn off and put away all electronics below 10,000 feet.

  • @seaboo143 The GPS indicates orthometric height (height above the geoid).
