@TheCheryl1967 You are correct!

Yes, Kris wrote this in July 1972 and began recording it in 1973. Elvis began singing it regularly a year later.

@rickhester Tim Storms also needs 9 thousand amps so you can hear him. He's not a real bass singer, no matter what the Guinness Book of Records says. Real bass singers dont need a wall of amps to be able to hear them. JD Sumner, Tim Duncan, George Younce, Tim Riley, Aaron McCune are all real bass singers. Tim Storms is just a vocal fry with a lot of technology to help him.

@TheCheryl1967 This version is the best, though.

Captivating!

Not to take anything away from JD but another singer has broken his record for the lowest note. Tim Storms with Pierce Arrow in Branson, Mo. also has the widest range for a male.

@MrInitialMan His stepbrother has told you the absolute truth.
@DanneDonut
Elvis apparently was indeed a devout Christian, even though fame (and Colonel Parker's influence) had seriously negative effects. His stepbrother even said that the real reason Elvis died was the Lord decided His child had gone through enough pain.

If I remember correctly, Kris Kristofferson actually wrote this song.
