@penrhyndeundraeth soviet system was very beneficial to some of european countries. (and present day Russ. Federation even more beneficial to the whole EU) BTW there is a theory, that Soviet system was in fact British hidden, implicit colony. So probably we should not diabolize Stalin and Lenin - but Windsors. (it's joke). In terms of that particular theory, Bolshevik Revolution, as you guess, could be interpreted as fatal loss of independence for Russia, with all other consequences.
@morphicID Without wanting to condone Stalin I said that he didn't bring about the same artistic stagnation as Hitler did in the the Nazi system. I should know as my Mother was brought up in Germany at that time. It's a fact that my Mother was born to someone who was fleeing the Russian Bolshevik revolution. I have made judgement on the Nazi system but still haven't made all my judgements on the Soviet system. But I am aware of German respect for Russian music.
@penrhyndeundraeth soviet system killed millions of Russians - before1950 - it was blood and corpses. The fact that there were some "melodic" patriotic songs doesn't mean the absence of "stagnation". Actually it's simply a matter of personal musical preferences and has nothing to do with history.
I have an album photo of Klavdia somewhere but she looks younger and with a different hair colour.
As for the comment about war. Although many people demonise Stalin and the Soviet system as being on a par with the Nazis I don't believe that the Soviet system brought about the same artistic stagnation that the Nazi system brought. One of my favoiurite Russian songs 'Tyomnaya Noch' was actually from a film made in 1943!!!!
beautiful looking women AMEN for the Russians otherwise wise those Nazis would had rule the world . Americans don't know what is like to loose 30 millions . But i know better.
Przepięknie, przepiękne. Wyczuwa się atmosferę ówczesnego czasu. I ten akordeonowy akompaniament.... Żadna orkiestra, tylko akordeon!!!
