MPs are debating controversial government proposals to change the law on the use of human embryos. The Prime Minister has been forced to grant Labour MPs a free vote on key elements of the legislation - hybrid embryos; access to IVF for lesbian couples and "saviour siblings" - after a threatened revolt by Roman Catholic ministers, including three members of the Cabinet.
