Say what you will about Milla Jovovich, but the movie was incredibly fictional with its portrayal of Joan of Arc. All the research and historians agree that she was a deeply pious and sane woman who had no real regrets about her military actions. I think Ron Maxwell said it best when he basically called the movie a big lie. And I theorize that Joan of Arc combined nationalism and religion, which means she didn't act completely in the name of God (if there is one).
