  • LMAO Someone should tell this idiot that you don't ALTERNATE YOUR PICKING when your playing ARPEGGIOS! It's strait up and strait down. Everyone knows that. But, what do you expect from someone wearing a shirt like that with tony hawk shoes. lmao

  • PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY YOU NEED ROCK HOUSE DVDs! Who ever is teaching you is wrong. When play arpeggios there is no 1 way. It's all about the effect, application and ease of play. Sweeping gives you more fluid motion but less attack, Alternate Picking less fluid but sharper attack. If you're trying to play at warp speed yes u sweep, but what happens when you play string skipping arpeggios, you must alternate pick, just like a Marty Freidman does. Hope this helps set you on the right path!

  • Dude, technically, arpeggios are just the notes of any given chord. Which means that you can just take the notes from said chord and play them however. You can sweep them, tap them, pick them, etc.

  • Thank you! someone on you tube who comments that actually knows what they are talking about. Hey send me a message you win a free Rock House DVD. I am serious.

  • @neoshaolin1 Optional.Whether you pick or hammer has to do with what you want to sound like. There is no rule about how you play an arpeggio and there is no pattern that everyone should copy. It's music.

  • fuck that was crap. he goes WAY out of time at the end lol.

  • @therockhouse

    Definitely!

It is worth it to practice alternate picking arpeggios that would normally be swept. You get a whole new sound out of it as well as the control over every note you play which is really important. A good example would be John Petrucci's arpeggio picking section in the glass prison.

  • @gangsta178456 the main riff sounds a litle like "two minutes to midnight" by iron maiden

  • that opening seemed familiar. Where was it from? 0:05 to 0:15? Can anyone tell me?

  • @flamer221 Dude whichever way works best for the player works for the player, theres no rules on how to play

  • Rock House Rocks. I can't believe anyone would use their video posts to be a jerk, when these guys are trying to help people. You'd think that these were Commie Manifesto videos by some of the rude, vulgar and downright dumb comments posted on some of these vid's.

  • I think that you can practice both techniques. In and Out. The more techniques you dominate, the more different ways you can choose to do what you want.

P.D.: Sorry if my english is not accurate!

  • great video.....5 stars!

  • owned lmao
