I definitely agree with her on that. A lot of very successful songs now really suck.. lil wayne's lick it like a lollipop and that beautiful girls song that was a smash hit.. any chris brown song. And of course the song she mentioned: my humps. I like BEP's latest song but some of them are terrible.

Black Eyed Peas fuckin suck!! I liked their first two albums then they went mega-pop afterwards. Kim stayed true to who she is as a person...much respect. Oh yeah, and I love her album Suga Hill.

@newage818 No, I think Kim is having the problem with the media's definition of Hip Hop and R&B these days. Like they said in the story, the record label told her she wasn't black enough. Can you imagine someone telling Tina Turner, Michael Jackson or Prince? Better yet, can you imagine someone telling Teena Marie or Madonna that she's not white enough? These record executives are one of the big reason why the music industry is in the terrible state that it's in. Keep your head up Kim.

@23firestorm Left the band? More like drop. George Martin thought he wasn't a great drummer and if the rest of the group didn't drop him, no contract. So they drop Pete Best like a bad cold. At least Kim made two records with the Peas but once again the record label got in the group's business and that's all she wrote. Bye bye Kim, Hello Fergie. I knew they sold out but BEP isn't the only one to get the blame. The fingers should be pointed at Interscope, radio, MTV & the listeners themselves.

FYI-I had an underground hip hop show in L.A. in the 90s after she left the group. Off the record she said that the boys wasn't giving her writing credit and refused to pay her. She was starving back then. I can't imagine seeing something you walk away from blow up like that..I always wondered if she was ok.. But this interview was really P.C. to jump start a career. The music industry has a formula and just like math if you don't follow the math rules it equal the wrong answer (for her career)
