How To Boost Performance (FPS) In Skyrim

Found this trick on the Skyrim nexus. It boosted me by about 20 FPS! My graphics card is ATI HD 5670.

Skyrim installation folder:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\s­kyrim

@SpartanA31xx Donload the fraps trail, then run the game and it sgould tell you in the left hand corner.

what happens if you u have a intel (r) HD graphics card?

@jor3211 Then you idealy need an upgrade. Intel cards are not gaming cards. They are onboard graphic chips only for general computing. You could try either one of the files. Let me know what results you get. Thanks.

I had the Nvidia GT555 and was running at 60+ fps most of the time on High, but in city's i had some major lag when i entered, trying this made it lag alot anywhere i am now..

I might have done something wrong, and i know how to remove it, just wondering if you have any suggestions for me?

@MHMagician Maybe try the 4gb enabler. Search youtube there should be a tutorial. If there is major lag in the cities open console command and type in 'temo' and press enter. This removes alot of lag in crowded areas as it disables facial emotions ect. Also go into menu and disable the 360 controller if you are using keyboard and mouse input. That also boosts fps for some reason. Sorry it didn't work, did you try both files?
