Activision Classics - Laser Blast

A game where a space probe shoots lasers at tanks that also shoot lasers seems to be a cool game idea. A game like this is more of a game of survival, however. Laser Blast, as cool as it is, happens to be the most underplayed game in the entire collection. Perhaps since both Laser Blast and Megamania were both orange-banded, that I was not attracted to the color orange, or maybe I just found them strange altogether. I can bet there are several games that have used this same concept. Let the disco lasers fly!

In Laser Blast, you must shoot down the three enemy tanks below. The space probe/ship can move in all directions, and the laser can fire in different positions depending on the aim. The tanks that have the turrets up is the one that will fire the laser, and since it is hard to dodge, it poses a great danger. Every 1000 points earns a new ship. The game is over when all ships are lost.

To spice things up a bit, I had decided to use various techniques to fire at the tanks below. A lot of suprise shots here, too. I even managed to gain more ships even when I had one left. Dang, ten more points and it would've continued farther (and I would've had more than 10000 points)

Haha, I remember playing this at my grandmother's place. She has a still-working Atari and me and my cousins would hold competitions against each other on this game to see who could get the highest score!

Activision did more with the Atari's capabities than any other third party developer. All their games were good. I spent many hours playing Pitfall, Keystone Kapers, Private Eye, and River Raid. Never got my hands on Laser Blast though :( Would have been awesome because that was around the time I was addicted to Stargate in the arcade.

laser blast! One of the first games I had on my atari. It looked so cool on the package, but it was actually kinda boring after playing a while.

Ughhhhhh! The WORST video game from Activision! It was so easy to get a million points in this game...which takes out the challenge! This was the first Activision game my mother bought me. I wished that she got me Kaboom, Pitfall, or Ice Hockey!

It was too easy. Just hide in the top left corner and blast away until they all moved into your beam's path.

I highly approve of any game with the word laser in it. This game looks like it requires some mad reflexes!
