Name: Isabella - Leader of the Resistance
Game: Freedom Fighters
Developer: IO Interactive
Year of Release: 2003
Composer: Jesper Kyd and the Hungarian radio choir

Freedom Fighters was a wonderful alternate history game of a Soviet invasion of the USA, with you as Chris Stone, a plumber turned revolutionary to take back New York City. Basically, Red Dawn the game. The music is a stirring classical-techno mixture with Isabella's theme as the best of them all in my opinion.

A slow saddening hopeful beginning that slowly rises with force and power as the hearts and minds of the American people are given more strength to keep fighting, rising to the height of martyrdom as heroes of America. Which is why it's perfectly fitting for a leader of this movement, it symbolises the hopelessness that unites people into one, to rise upwards in and numbers, the beating heart of their city slowly regaining its strength.

  • Ah, Jesper Kyd, one of the greatest video game composers of our day, I would say.

  • I should really play Freedom Fighters at some point and I agree, this track has a good mix of classical and techno music.
